Alan Handyman provides professional flat pack furniture assembly for homeowners, landlords, rental properties and small businesses across Norwich, Great Yarmouth and surrounding Norfolk areas.I assemble everything from individual items to larger furniture builds, including wardrobes, beds, chests of drawers, shelving units, cabinets, desks, tables and storage furniture. I regularly work with IKEA furniture and can assemble larger and more complex systems including IKEA PAX wardrobes.
Every item is assembled carefully using the manufacturer's instructions and the correct tools, with particular attention to alignment, stability and a tidy finish. Where required and appropriate, furniture can also be positioned and safely secured once assembly is complete.
I can help whether you have a single piece of furniture to assemble, several items following a house move, or furniture that needs assembling for a rental property or business. I bring the tools needed for the work and aim to make the whole process straightforward, with clear communication and careful workmanship from start to finish.

I provide professional flat pack furniture assembly, carefully following manufacturer instructions to ensure every component is fitted correctly, securely and safely. I assemble furniture from IKEA and other major manufacturers, including wardrobes, beds, desks, shelving and storage units. Each item is checked for stability, alignment and smooth operation before completion, with the work area left tidy.
I provide a reliable odd job service covering a wide range of smaller home improvements and repairs, all completed with care and attention to detail. I fit blinds, curtain poles, shelves, locks, bathroom fittings and key safes, as well as mounting TVs, carrying out minor window repairs, adjusting doors and replacing simple electrical fittings. I also offer small furniture assembly, gutter clearing and general carpentry work.
I provide a reliable lawn mowing and grass cutting service for homes, rental properties and businesses. Regular mowing is available weekly, fortnightly or monthly, alongside one-off cuts for lawns requiring attention. I also undertake edging, trimming, strimming and seasonal tidy-ups, covering small, medium and large lawns with a professional and tidy approach.

Husband and I moved recently to Norwich, and we are still in the process of settling. Alan took out of our shoulders some tough tasks in our to-do list for which clearly we didn't have the right tools (he sorted four floating shelves and a heavy mirror, which required drilling multiple holes on solid brick walls; and reversed our fridge doors). We picked Alan for the job because he came very recommended, and now we can see why: He's nothing but professional, efficient, and generally a delightful person to interact with. To top it off, his prices are very reasonable. He'll be our handyman from now on, no doubt about it.

Alan came for an appointment in Eaton this morning and secured two invisible fixture toilet seats that had become badly dislodged as well as attaching a toilet roll holder to the wall. I cannot praise him highly enough as a Handyman. He turned up promptly, got straight on with the jobs and was polite, courteous and personable. He took care to complete the work to a high standard and even vacuumed up the dust after drilling. I have no hesitation in recommending him.

As a landlord of a number of properties in Norwich I first met Alan about 10 years ago when I was looking for someone who could manage the gardens and carry out some property maintenance after my original handyman retired.
Alan offered exactly the help I was looking for and has proved to be very reliable and competent in all aspects of garden maintenance, minor property repair and decorating work.
As I was located several hours drive from Norwich I found Alan to be invaluable in reliably doing the regular garden maintenance but also being my go to guy when the unexpected happened - such as dealing with a tree that came down in one of the gardens in stormy weather. As always with Alan it was handled promptly with no fuss.
Renting property in a city hours away from home can be a challenge but with Alan supporting me it worked well.

Alan has fixed a broken window handle on my double glazing, applied a fresh waterproof seal around the edge of my bath and also fixed a problem with my toilet which was failing to flush properly. All of the jobs were completed efficiently and swiftly and I have been delighted with the results. I had tried for some time to get someone to fix the seal around the bath but, everyone I asked before Alan said the job was too small. Alan is very friendly, dependable and reliable... I will be on the 'phone with no hesitation when next I need help!
