Peter Dudgeon, an inventive soul, and an RAF fighter pilot in World War II, was asked constantly by his Polish ground crew - who had kept his planes flying - if he could find them work - so he did. The company started by specialising in making sofas and fitted kitchens, and Peter became a well-known personality in Knightsbridge making his top quality sofas for the establishment and for interior designers who quickly found out about his business. In 1961 his son William joined the company, working with his father for five years until the founder retired.

Bought these sofas and chairs in 2001. The only place to sit. Everyone comments on how comfortable our sofas (still) are. They seemed expensive at the time, but they are still in good condition so in reality only cost a few hundred pounds (if that) a year so far. Having recently purchased a cheaper less comfortable sofa elsewhere I wish I'd invested in another Peter Dudgeon one. They are so comfortable and last forever, with residual value. Just went in to have a look and the people in the shop are really friendly, helpful and accommodating.
