Bricks and mortar – the store came before the computer! Stokers is an established business. We have been successfully serving our local community for over 110 years and created a reputation for quality and value for money. From this website we can bring our offer, customer service and value for money to a wider audience. When you order on our website your order will not be left to a computer to fulfil, it will be handed direct to a salesperson at the store who will contact you personally to discuss your order and lead you through the process from order to dispatch of the goods.
Unlike many other companies we only ask you to pay a deposit of 20% of your order value on placing your order on line. The balance will not become payable until the goods are in stock and you are ready for delivery. These are the same terms we offer in our stores.
We go to great lengths to ensure that everything we sell is of the highest quality and all our furniture is guaranteed for 2 years from the date of delivery. Obviously, fair wear and tear is excluded but should there be any manufacturing defects in that 2 year period we guarantee we will repair the product or if we are unable to repair it will replace it free of charge.
Of course for that extra piece of mind you can also invest in our Guardsman 5 year protection plan. Guardsman’s 5 year cover lets you relax and enjoy your new investment, with our fabric cover any spills will be taken care of and if you purchase a leather sofa you will get the additional cover against rips, tears, burns or scratches.

When the furniture comes into our warehouse you will be contacted by our logistics department to arrange a suitable date for delivery, we will wherever possible try to arrange a delivery for am or pm. When you have arranged the delivery you will be asked to pay any outstanding balance on your order; all this maybe done over the phone.
Please note we are only able to deliver goods to the address that your credit or debit card is registered at. If delivery to another address is required then please enquire with the store for different payment methods. If you live within 50 miles of the store we will not charge for the delivery service and we will for a small charge remove the old furniture you are replacing (please phone the store for details).
Over 50 miles the delivery charge will have been included in your order; unfortunately we can not remove your old furniture. In most cases delivery will be by one of our own delivery vehicles. The delivery drivers will phone you approximately 30 minutes prior to arrival at your home. At your home our delivery team will assess where the goods are going and put down blankets and protective covering where necessary.
The goods will be delivered into your home put in position, assembled and unwrapped. All the wrappings will be removed and taken away for recycling. On the odd occasion we are unable to deliver the goods because the access is poor we will return the goods to our warehouse and arrange a re delivery once the necessary steps have been taken to allow access i.e. doors removed or windows removed.
There may be a small charge if there was a delivery charge on the original order but this will be discussed with you. Unfortunately we are unable to remove doors and windows on your behalf. Once in place you will be asked to inspect the furniture and sign to confirm it is in good condition. The invoice and any Guardsman certificates will be left with you. You are ready to start enjoying your new purchase!
